Food Bank Manager (10-12 hours/week)
Location: South Fellowship Church
Reports to: Director of Outreach
Are you someone who sees both people and processes and believes they both matter deeply? We’re looking for a part-time Food Bank Manager to help lead and improve the operations of South Fellowship’s Food Bank. This role is for someone energized by details and logistics and who values relationships and our mission. You’ll help make things work better and bring others along in the process.
We’re looking for someone with a servant’s heart and a bold spirit—someone who trusts God in the tension of change and growth and who leads others with both grace and conviction.
Duties Include:
- Serve as the main point of contact for Team Leads across Food Bank operations
- Rotate through all Food Bank functions to build relationships and gain full context
- Works with the Director of Outreach as part of the Food Bank Leadership Team
- Maintain volunteer scheduling and master lists
- Support volunteer recruitment and help onboard new team members
- Coordinate inventory management, food drives, and resource sharing with partners
- Monitor safety and food handling best practices (training provided)
- Help shape policies and procedures that reflect our values
- Assist with planning Team Lead meetings and all-volunteer gatherings
- Coordinate with the church facilities team for maintenance or setup needs
- Contribute to annual budgeting, surveys, strategy, and service planning
- Support efforts to digitize Food Bank functions
- Manage responses to Food Bank email and voicemail inquiries

South Fellowship Church Food Bank is seeking a highly organized, compassionate, and energetic individual to serve as our Seasonal Christmas Shoppe Coordinator. Each year, our Christmas Shoppe brings holiday joy to 120 families in our Food Bank community by providing a dignified, personalized shopping experience for toys and essential household items. This role will oversee the planning and execution of this beloved annual event.
This is a part-time, temporary position ideal for someone with event planning experience, strong interpersonal skills, and attention to details. You will work closely with South staff, volunteers, and community partners to ensure a successful and meaningful event.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning, Volunteer and Community Partner Coordination
- Help manage a detailed timeline and checklist for the Christmas Shoppe
- Coordinate logistics for gift collection, storage, and distribution
- Track inventory of donated toys and household items
- Help recruit, organize, schedule, and communicate with over 100 event volunteers
- Work with local businesses and donors contributing to the Shoppe
- Ensure timely communications and pick-up/drop-off of donated items
- Day-of Event Leadership and Post-Event Wrap-Up
- Assist with event setup, volunteer briefings, and problem-solving during the Shoppe
- Ensure the event runs smoothly and offers a warm, welcoming environment for families
- Support thank-you communications and debriefing with staff and partners
- Assist in gathering feedback and documenting lessons learned for next year
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in event coordination, project management, or volunteer organizing
- Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with international communities (Spanish skills are a definite plus)
- Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and basic scheduling tools
- Availability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
- South member or regular attendee preferred
