Mel Keys
Facilities Manager
Mel was born in San Jose, CA, where he grew up in the suburb of Cupertino and watched Apple Computer and the rest of Silicon Valley take over. Mel has been in the construction industry with his family since the age of 12. He later became the Lead Superintendent for SheaHomes in the Nor Cal division in 1998 and here in Highlands Ranch until 2004. Before joining the staff at South, Mel worked for Front Range Christian School as a maintenance technician for 14 years. Mel and his wife Lisa have two boys, Dylan and Evan, both graduates from Front Range Christian School. Mel also has two daughters, Brittany and Jaclyn, and two grandchildren, Dante and Bailey, who live in California. Mel enjoys hanging out with family and friends and studying God’s word through Bible Study Fellowship (BSF). He enjoys shooting, going to the gym, and classic muscle cars. Mel’s dream with his boys is to build a muscle car…’67 GT 500 “Eleanor” or buy it finished!
