Revelation
Revelation reveals the end of the story. It is the final word of scripture for us as followers of Jesus. It may be the most mysterious book of the Bible; it is certainly the most misunderstood! For centuries, it has been used by people to demonstrate all sorts of views of what the “end times” might look like, and yet the book’s purpose is greater than just giving us a glimpse of the end of the story. It is a book that was first written to followers of Jesus, wondering how, in the middle of a world full of chaos and persecution, they could follow Jesus well.
In this season when we might be wondering who is holding it all together, revelation is, at its heart, an encouraging book. It invites us to “come up here” and see how things look from a heavenly point of view.
