It’s been 20 years since Jesus’ death and resurrection, and the local church has spread like wildfire. The first church in Jerusalem has exploded into a multitude of Jesus-following communities in cities all around the Mediterranean. The first-century writer Paul wrote his first letter to a church in Corinth, and this letter came at a key point in time. Surrounded by other cultures, this church was called to stay faithful to Jesus’ teachings and help change the world around them. But this new community no longer lived as they once had, and Paul will call them back to the authentic way of Jesus. We invite you to study 1 Corinthians with us this fall as we learn what the countercultural way of Jesus looks like in practice.
