Red Couch Theology Podcast with Alex & Aaron

Sermon Conversations with Alex and Aaron

There's only so much we can cover in a Sunday morning gathering!

Each week, you're invited to tune into our LIVE podcast at 11 am on Thursdays
– recorded (and sometimes prerecorded) for later, online viewing.

What can you expect? Pastors Alex, Aaron and the occasional guest,
having  a casual conversation diving deeper into ideas related to last Sunday's teaching:

"How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"  (John 6:52)

    1. How do we interpret this statement as a metaphor for Jesus' crucifixion, as the Passover Lamb – His offering of his body (bread) and blood (wine)?
    2. How does Jesus' sacrifice of His Eternal Life on the Cross provide His flesh (soul and spirit) to satisfy our atonement?
    3. How does the resurrection of Jesus' body (flesh), soul and spirit provide for our resurrection to eternal life?

"This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?"  (John 6:60)

    1. Do we so much want Jesus to have been rescued from that gruesome crucifixion, for the Father to have found another, more gentle way to save us (the Garden remedy)?
    2. Or should we accept that our sin is so serious that we should have been sacrificed instead of Him?  Horrors!
    3. Or can we just believe and accept the Love that Jesus died in our place?
    4. How does Jesus' choice concern everything about this creation and thereafter?
