I have one simple comforting observation out of John 16. This observation reminds me why I really like Jesus. Here it is, are you ready?
Almost all of chapter 15 and 16 are words Jesus said to his disciples to get them ready for the hard things they would face. Over and over again He says things like, “I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away.” Jesus knew what his disciples were going to go through so he kindly and gently offers them comfort. One of the largest blocks of Jesus’ words we have recorded in the bible is Jesus comforting his guys and us.
Our God is so compassionate to our weakness. I LOVE THAT about our God!
