As we enter 2010 my mind is just buzzing with ministry ideas, hopes, dreams, and expectations. I have this sense in me that God wants to do some great things in the coming year. This past year has been a time of huge change for me on a personal level. Kelly and I had our first child – Ethan who is now 11 months old. I could have never imagined the changes that this addition could have brought! Most of them are extremely positive, the only difficult adjustment has been lack of sleep. We have had so much fun with Ethan and are so excited to see him continue to grow in this coming year.

A verse that has been on my mind this New Year’s is Isaiah 43:18-19 which reads, “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland.” What a great time of the year to meditate on God’s desire to “new things” – both in and through us.

I’m excited for the “new things” that he wants to do in my life, family, and ministry in the coming year.
